Arthur Szyk: Soldier in Art Documentary

James Ruxin, Emmy award nominated film maker and Irvin Ungar, Curator of The Arthur Szyk Society, have produced a short documentary film, entitled Arthur Szyk: Soldier in Art, that shows public school teachers and students reacting to the art of Arthur Szyk. Teachers at Mercer Island H.S. in Seattle, Washington, are inspired by how the Szyk story will engage their students, and the students demonstrate their newly gained insights about speaking out on important issues and the lessons history can teach them. This documentary adds evocative camera movements to over 50 examples of Szyk's work and delivers a strong message that many viewers describe as "powerful."
